New Alliance Joins Offset Providers
ICROA promises to increase reliability of carbon offset claims
ICROA logoEight of the world’s leading carbon reduction and offset providers announced the formation of the International Carbon Reduction and Offset Alliance (ICROA). EPA New England Climate Change Forum
Researchers, regulators and resource managers will gather on June 19th at the University of New Hampshire to discuss ways to help government officials and institutions plan for the impacts of climate change on New England's resources. Hang on to your Hats: Hurricanes on the Horizon
Image Courtesy of National Hurricane CenterHurricane season officially began on June 1, and already there has been a named tropical storm, Arthur. The 2008 season has a 60 to 70 percent chance of being more active than normal due to ocean and atmospheric patterns, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Gerry Bell, Ph.D., lead seasonal hurricane forecaster at NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center, said, “One of the expected oceanic conditions is a continuation since 1995 of warmer-than-normal temperatures in the eastern tropical Atlantic.” Read more...
