Agricultural fires linked to Arctic warming

A new report by the Clean Air Task Force detailing the role of agricultural burning in generating black carbon pollution in the Arctic has been released.  The report is the first compilation of research on the origins and means of deposition in the region, according to Ellen Baum, senior scientist of the Clean Air Task Force, Clean Air-Cool Planet’s partner in work to reduce the short-lived forcers black carbon, methane, and ozone. Register now for Local Energy Solutions 2009

The hall is filling up for Local Energy Solutions 2009, Saturday, June 20th at the Grappone Center in Concord. Officials will be on hand at the conference to explain how some $75 million in funds will be made available this year to local communities.  Conference pre-registration is $20 for one, $35 for two people, and $45 for three, but pre-registration will end at noon on Friday, June 19th.  Admission at the door will be $30.  Find out more at www.carboncoalition.org/Conference.
